The Optimism Foundation (OPF) leads the development of the OP Stack, one of the most widely adopted rollup frameworks in Web3.
OPF powers networks such as Base, World Chain, and Unichain. Together, these OP Stack networks form the Superchain, a unified ecosystem of rollups that share infrastructure, contribute sequencer revenue, and scale as a cohesive network.
As the Superchain expanded, OPF identified a core need: reliable, production-grade RPC infrastructure across its network. Previously, each chain operated its own setup with a mix of self-hosted environments and third-party RPC vendors. This fragmentation made it difficult to guarantee consistent performance, uptime, and operational efficiency across the Superchain.
To solve this, OPF launched a grant program to standardize RPC delivery and provide high performance, high-availability infrastructure to key partners and applications.
